Finally, A Job Tailor Made for an Artist !

Dreaming of a part-time job that comes with a studio ? YK ARCC is looking for a dynamic, self-starting professional to work on a term, part-time basis (15h/week) as Arts Coordinator. Reporting to the YK ARCC board, the Coordinator will plan and facilitate events, programs and activities and oversee day to day operations of studio rental program. This is a diverse and rewarding position ! The roles of the Arts Coordinator include the following :

  • Plan, coordinate and facilitate workshops and outreach events. This role includes supporting YK ARCC volunteers to lead and coordinate on-going public education events throughout the year such art shows, and events, workshops, socials, etc. ;
  • Plan and write project proposals ;
  • Assist in managing project funding and reporting ;
  • Communicate with YK ARCC members and the general public regarding events and projects, through the website, social media, media and other forms ;
  • Maintain membership and volunteer lists ;
  • Manage Internet and phone; and
  • Attend bi-weekly board meetings

Required skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills ;
  • Excellent proposal writing skills ;
  • Excellent organizational skills ;
  • Excellent planning and project management skills ; and
  • Be able to plan, organize and carry out public workshops


  • Must enjoy working with public;
  • Must love arts and, preferably, be a practicing artist;
  • Be able to work long and flexible hours with notice; and
  • Some week-end and evening work required

Educational Background and Experience

Past experience or education related to administration

Potential for Advancement:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to write funding proposals to increase this position to full-time and extend his/her contract

Term of Employment:  September 10, 2012 to November 30, 2012
